Yesterday was a fantastic day. Thank you to all involved.

I re-aquainted myself with some old friends who i've missed loads.

I had a fantastic time with some of my closest friends which is always something to remember.

I sang, yes you hear right. I've broken that three year plus gap and finally done it.

And yes, that love for it is still there. But it's amazing how something you love so much can scare you to death at the same time! But hopefully the more I do it the quicker that will pass!

I've got some photos of Chloe, the lady that organised the gig and so kindly invited me to perform, working her magic that i'm going to add to my pictures over the next few days so keep your eyes peeled because she's fabulous.

And some photos of my lovely friends that supported me as well. Thanks to you all for being there for me. I was shitting it!

Also a huge thank you to My Monkey who has not only pushed me through my fear and helped me to accomplish this. But who also ran all the way home just to rescue my lyrics because i'm stupid and I took the wrong ones. I'd be lost without him! ??

Will let you all know of any other nights coming up just in case your interested!

Day Off

There is no better feeling than a day off work to spend some of your hard earned, and almost non existent, money pampering yourself.

That feeling of lying back and enjoying the head massage while your hairs being washed.

Watching those taunting split ends being chopped off.

Seeing your whole image change with a few choice cuts.

I've always loved going to the hairdressers!

Can't wait!

I'm also getting my roots touched up... lol, I said touched up! That's the boring part, lol. But well worth the wait!

Very much looking forward to a quiet day of contemplation to myself.... for myself.

Butterflies

Emotional Vampires, as La Vey called them, the less said the better so as to not put my foot in it. Need to get myself some guts and tell people the truth, cruel to be kind as they say.

I think possibly some Ash head space is needed.

I had some good news today. Well several bits of....

The first being from my doctor. Due to me simply forgetting to take my anti-depressants because well I don't feel like I need them he has told me that I can come off them!

I survived. I spent my whole teenage years avoiding the drugs because I wanted to do it naturally and to be honest, I was wasting my time in many respects. They helped me put everything aside and sort through the bits and pieces one by one. Fantastic, I should have done it before!!!

But now comes the hard bit.... coming off them. I get butterflies in my stomach just thinking about how hard it was back then and how unable to cope I was.

I don't want to go back there. But I suppose that fear of returning to that mentality is exactly what will stop me from doing just that. It will help me to recognise the signs this time.

Scared. But proud of myself none the less, so unbelievably proud.

I just need to have faith in myself, I brought myself this far and I did it for me. I can carry myself through, take responsibility and live through the other side.

A side I didn't think i'd ever see!

To celebrate this news I got yet more news when I got home.

I have an audition for the X Factor on the 30th April!!!

I'm completely bricking it at this very moment in time. I certainly haven't prepared anything and it would seem i've onlt got a few weeks to do so! But this just goes to show that I can do this.

I sent off the form, on my own initiative.

I can get through the audition.

And fingers crossed they'll see something special in me. We can but hope!

Today has been an exhilirating day and not one i'm going to forget in a while!

Matt and I went for a meal on Friday evening, I chose a place that had always caught my eye, my original impression being that it would be of a similar price to the places i'm used to, it wasn't, but I definitely wasn't dissapointed

The meal cost us a fair amount, but for what we got it was bloody reasonable!

I had the soup of the day for a starter, which was fantastically creamy with a real homemade taste to it, dressed very nicely with a large crouton fried bread piece in the middle, not overly fried.

For my main meal I chose from their "pic n mix" section, where you have a list of the different types of pasta, of which there are alot to choose from, many i'd never heard of! You choose one of these and then choose from a list of sauces.

I went for the penne, because I love it, and the Neopalitana sauce with courgettes. I savoured every bite because the sauce was fantastic, so creamy and delicious and the vegetables were just right.

For pudding... this was the piece de resistance... Bailey's cheesecake, I was in heaven just thinking about it. When i turned up, well I could have creamed myself there and then, every bite was like heaven! The cheesecake was yet again homemade with a generous portion and delicious lime and plum sauces placed neatly on the plate.

The food was fantastically laid out. The portions were perfect, just enough to mean you could have the three courses and feel completely satisfied but not so stuffed you felt sick.

The service was brilliant, we weren't harassed, the plates were removed from the table once we had both finished and pushed our plates aside and even had time to have a sip of our drink. We didn't feel rushed.

The atmosphere was lovely, the music adding to that.

So... how much do you think it cost, considering we both had three courses and a bottle of Merlot....

£52.... thats it!

For the service we got and the perfection of each seperate meal I expected to pay alot more than that!

So if your ever in Leicester I thouroughly recommend going there, I had a fantastic time.

Another update for you. There isn't a huge amount to comment on really.

I'm not sure if i mentioned that I got a new job last year at Mark Insulations. I'm really enjoying it here, jobs pretty simple and occasionally made complicated by others, but not complicated enough for me to get stressed about it which is awesome!

Matt & I have started planning the wedding as you have seen, we've been buying bits to make the invitations and have written the guest list. As mentioned the wedding has been booked, that is now official as we have completed the legal side of things. And one of the wedding reception venues has been booked as well. Matt has ideas for suits and we've decided on a colour theme so he can get everyone measured for those and start sorting that side. I'm still waiting to start the preperations for my dress, although it's all designed in my head, just need to find the right materials etc and sort out my corset at La Veys.

Yeah i'm rambling... I know. Weddings are bloody complicated to organise!

I have also started singing again, not in public yet, but that should hopefully happen over the next month. Enjoying practising with my friend Richard who kindly agreed to play guitar with me.

Oh and, sad as it may sound to some, I applied to the X Factor! Haven't heard anything yet!

Erm.... can't really think of anything more to put at the moment.

The house is fine, bit messy. Weight loss is well more gain than loss at the moment but that should change soon!

The wedding takes up most of my thoughts at the moment as you can tell! lol.

Reception Venue Booked

Yes, we really are being that efficient! The wedding reception venue is booked! All ours for that one evening!

It was pointed out to me that I have forgotten to mention dates, it wasn't intentional... my mind just ran away with me!

The wedding is going to be on the 13th September 2007... close family only and best men of course. This is being recorded and shown at the reception which is on the 15th September, which is a Saturday to make life easier for those that work and can't afford to take time off! We'll be sebding out invites for the Wedding Reception in the next month to prepare people that have to travel and give them plenty of notice to get things sorted.

Oh and I got my ring!!!! it's so pretty!!!!

More updates soon, and possibly pictures of the ring if I can find the batteries for my camera!

Wedding Booked

I've gone into hyper wedding mode now that Christmas is out of the way.

I have officially booked not only the date but the time of mine and Matt''s wedding!!

Once the meeting for all of the official stuff is out of the way (e.g. notice of intention to marry etc) then we are officially set in that respect. That's at least one step towards getting everything started!

Next is reception venue, preperations alread underway I can promise you.... being a girl I of course didn't spend the whole day after being proposed to thinking about my wedding dress and venues *looks shifty* ok, maybe I got a little bit giddy and carried away But who can blame me, it's not everyday you get to plan a wedding and I definitely don't plan on doing it again after this one!

I can't stop thinking about it all, and not in a bad way.... just what plans need to be made and what needs to be done etc. hehe.

This website was set up by Jonno and my wonderful Monkey, Matt (also known as tinmonkey on the site). Along with Chris (newbreed) as their film addding whizz kid... who topped all expectations and managed to get the site up to 1000 movies from 500 in 2 weeks! Well done!

They also have a MySpace blog that you can check out through my friends list if your interested. If you search You Tube they also have some fantastic video blogs to introduce themselves and the site.

But more importantly there is the website.... Join now and you can review all your favourite, or worst, films and let other people know exactly what you thought of them!

LG Chocolate Phone

Well.... what can I say!

I've only had this phone since 24th August of this year and thare have been several faults already.

It started with a fairly small fault that seemed to fix itself. I was finding that I couldn't hear the person i'd rang, but apprently they could hear me, which is frustrating to say the least! However, this seemed to correct itself and I put it down to that specific persons phone not having much signal instead. I have now found out that this is infact a common problem in this phone!!

I also found that every once in a while it would lose it's signal randomly, in places where i'd had no problems getting signal before. To correct this problem I had to take the battery out and switch my phone back on again. Which of course is inconvenient!

BUT these to me still seemed like small problems because they were quite infrequent and because I absolutely loved the way it looked and the way everything else worked on it I didn't take much notice.

Don't get me wrong, I still do absolutely love certain things about this phone. I do think it is beautiful (even if the screen does scratch stupidly easily) and I do love the way the touch pad part is actually really easy to use once your used to it. So in general this phone suits me and it looks extremely fancy! Being a girl this impressed me of course!

BUT (and this is the big BUT) today it just completely let me down and performed the biggest fault i've ever known to happen in a phone, especially when you consider the fact that I have only owned it for a little over 2 months.

I decided to take my headphones with me on the way to work and listen to some of my MP3's... so I did the usual, I plugged them into the socket at the side (also used for charging and connecting to the PC). The phone went off... not impressed. I pressed the on button, it wouldn't turn on... even less impressed. I took the headphones out and pressed the on button, it didn't work. I took the battery off and put it back on.... it finally turned on.

But oh no that's not the end of the story because yes... I then tried to put my headphones in again. And it turned off. It hasn't turned on since.

I have tried charging it, it doesn't even show the "charging" symbol that it usually would, even if switched off. I have tried taking the battery off, the sim card out and putting them all back. I have tried plugging the headphones in again. I have tried holding the button down for 5 minutes and pressing it lightly. I tried every other button just incase the buttons had decided to re-arrange themselves in a twisted game of cat and mouse. I have tried having a staring contest with it and randomly hitting the on button.

By this point I am almost definately not impressed! As i'm sure would be the case for anyone that was expecting a phone call that could determine whether their wage rises by three grand or not!

It has now been sent off for repair, although what they think they can do with a phone that won't even turn on I don't know! But we will see.

However, if they offer me the same model because they can't fix the one that was sent in... my answer will involve alot of words that aren't very polite and none of them will be yes!

Completely un-impressed! That will teach me to get a phone because it looks pretty! Such a girl!

But I did find this lovely picture of me and my little friend Sophia earlier today that i'd completely forgotten about and she is adorable!

However. The reason for me adding the photo's of the litte star is because she's a competitor in the Leicester Mercury Baby of the Year Competition. Now I was going to ask you all to vote on the Leicester Mercury website, but it would seem you can't vote online and have to get hold of the daily paper to fill in the form instead! Which is absolute rubbish!

But none the less I will leave these lovely picture here as they always make me smile!

I am currently filling in an application form for DMU and was thinking back to a job I had in January this year... nothing special, a Temp job in a far off place that took me 2 hours to get to every morning!

I was pretty miserable at that time. I was living with my Mum (at the age of 20, after being rather indepedant till that point) due to a psycho housemate that I couldn't stomach anymore so I left, putting myself in two months worth of debt due to rent being owed. I had a job that required me to spend the majority of my day on buses. My job also meant that due to my partner at the time having a job also near his house, we never saw each other (literally. It got to the point where we hadn't seen each other in a month).

I had no money to go out due to the debt I owed, I had no life outside of the house and I practically had no boyfriend due to his lack of interest and the lack of time we were spending together.

Then my life fell apart... he dumped me, several times over several weeks, adding to my stress levels over everything else that had happened. Finally it came to the final dumping and we split up for good. I was devestated, he was all i'd known for 4 years. I'd given my life to him more than he could ever know, i'd sacrificed my dignity and self-respect to keep him happy. I was left a wreck with nothing more to keep me going than the friends i'd made over the internet.

One friend in particular was there through it all. If i cried he listened, if I moaned he listened. If I was sad he tried to cheer me up with silly jokes and random websites. When I finally broke up with my ex he was straight on the phone and he listened while I cried and blubbed and only half made sense through my sniffling.

My ex decided he wanted me back a week later, so we got back together... I said yes more out of habit than out of wanting to. I didn't know what I wanted. I suppose I wanted him to love me like he had when we'd met but he made that fateful mistake of telling me that to make things better we had to spend less time together... I already hadn't seen him for a month and he was saying that because of his job I had to wait almost another month to see him. I was devestated but I was devoted so I said it was ok. It wasn't ok. I felt worthless, pointless, un-loved.

So I decided to take my friends offer of going to visit him that weekend, so that I could talk to someone about how I was feeling and have some fun to try and forget about the weeks I would have to wait to see my boyfriend.

The weekend came, I got on the train and dissapeared off. I came back two days later with nothing more than the knowledge that my life needed to change because i'd lost all of the things I loved already, so I had to let go and start a fresh. There was nothing left of my relationship, we were just both holding on because we knew nothing else and we didn't want to lose that security.

So we broke up, after 4 long years. I was upset, of course, but I knew I had to do it.

I feel a bit guilty writing all of that for the whole world to see but to be honest it's the past and it means nothing in the grand scheme of things. So i'm not going to beat myself up because other people might object to me writing about it... after all they're my feelings.

Anyway. After that weekend had passed and i'd had time to sort myself out I started seeing more of my friend, Matt. I'd always seen lots of him anyway, he'd come to visit a fair bit and we'd go out drinking and chatting about life and all of it's toils and other random stuff. It was great. He was fun, and sweet and he gave great cuddles when I needed them. It was fairly obvious he liked me, and so i'm told fairly obvious to everyone else that I liked him! So I asked him out... and he said yes.

Since then I think everyone would agree with the statement that my life has just sky rocketed into something I never thought I would ever get.

Matt moved to Leicester a month after we got together and he asked me to move in with him. We found a lovely townhouse which we have been living in since May of this year. I finally feel like i've got my own home, somewhere where I feel comfortable... and I share it with someone that makes me very very happy.

As you may have also noticed from a previous blog entry we are also now engaged!

I'm also learning to drive... which I am told I am doing very very well at.

Things aren't ever perfect, so i've been forced to realise over the past 5 years of my life. But you have to learn to accept that. I'm getting there with the accepting that part... now I just need to learn that no person is ever perfect and that I myself can be happy being slightly imperfect. I'll let you know how that goes!

For now i've realised that things , as they are, are pretty good. I don't think i've ever had a year where i've gained so many of the things i've ever wanted. I have Matt to thank for alot of that. He has been there to support me through everything and I hope to be there to support him through anything that life may throw at him in the future. I love him in such a way that I never thought I would love anyone again (and yes I know he's probably blushing right now reading this and wanting to hide ina corner ).

Now to find that perfect job and pass my driving test and there will be no stopping me!

I was at the gym on Tuesday and I noticed a woman in the quiet room. She looked like there was nothing but skin and bone on her and quite obviously has some form of eating disorder. I wanted to help her so much. However she didn’t have a pathetic look on her face, she looked strong and determined… which scares me slightly, to think that someone could do that to themselves with such resolve and not realise just how much damage they are really doing. Although, in all fairness, for all I know she’s on the road to recovery and that’s why she looks so determined.

She has been there every morning I’ve been this week… tues, wed, thurs and probably tomorrow too.

A young lady next to me on this morning started talking to me about her and made a rather interesting point when I said that she looked ill, she said that there are lots of people that are the exact opposite of her and are killing themselves slowly by being obese and it’s funny how they don’t get as much sympathy as someone that is starving themselves to look like were told we should.

She was right…. why do we have more sympathy and try to help those people and not try and help people that struggle to lose weight? I know I struggled to lose weight through lack of support (not support from friends and loved ones, I had plenty of that) but technical support.

Accident

Had a strange day yesterday. My Monkey ended up in hospital after blacking out and falling down the stairs at home. Thankfully... well I say thankfully, i'm sure he'd kill me for using that expression, he only cracked a few ribs and is bruised his spine. The reson I say thankfully is because it could have been alot worse!

He's doing alright now though, in a bit of pain and struggling to bend down but he's coping like the soldier he is. I know i;d be whining like the best of them if it had happened to me!
